Bathroom Closet Organization Ideas That'll Change your Life
This year one of my goals has been to work on knocking out organization projects throughout my home. I felt my house had gotten to the point where if you opened up anything behind close doors you would be in for a messy surprise. Each month I had been challenging myself to organize a new space.
I was happy to finally complete our largest linen closet. I would say this is a medium size closet and took me about two hours to complete. I know organization can be one of things that you want to do, but not really sure of the products or how to do it. With that, I have teamed up with Container Store to share all the products I used and tips on how to complete these bathroom closet organization ideas.

Bathroom Closet Organization Tips:
Step 1: Purge and Clean
This is the most time consuming piece. I didn't want to just keep everything. I wanted to effectively purge and throw out items that I had no business keeping anything. Time sifting through everything and ensuring you aren't keeping unnecessary items takes time.
After I purged everything I wiped down all the shelves to give the area a blank canvas and swept the floor.
Step 2: Assess your mess
After you have purged, categorize each item and clump them in piles. This will help you see exactly what type of storage you will need for this project.
Step 3: Product Selection
I always like my closets to be fully functional, and make it easy to find exactly what I need in little time. It is also important for me to have a closet that aesthetically has some decorative flare as well.
I opted to use the Like-it Bricks as they are easy to view your items, affordable and come in so many different sizes. For my larger storage items I used my tried and true Water Hyacinth baskets. I have used them in so many spaces. It adds a decorative flare and also bring functionality to the space. I also used the white Nordic Baskets as aesthetically probably my favorite. If you have bulky items like extra sheets or blankets I recommend using the Water Hyacinth with handles, it is a great way to hide all of the bulk.
I always suggest getting a variety of bins/baskets. It makes it easier to ensure you capture all your item needs.
Above you can see the full breakdown and below.
Step 4: Placement
You can do this more formally than I do, but I typically figure this out as I go. Sometimes items will fit better in certain baskets so I will move products around until they fit best. Once I have placed all the products in the bins I then will start placing on the shelves. If you prefer you can draw out a template, but I like just putting the pieces of the puzzle together as I go.
One thing I always follow is I like my basics to be symmetrical. You will see from my pictures that I almost all of my bins have a matching partner. I feel it balances out the space, and makes the closet aesthetically look more cohesive rather than random sizes bins every where. I like to make a pattern.
Step 5: Labeling
Sometimes when I organize, it can be difficult remember where you moved everything. I get used to operating in mess, so it throws me off having this newly organized space. To help me I always make sure I label everything. It is so helpful with finding everything.
I used the white label clips and the Like-it brick labels.
These are the 5 easy steps I used to organize and rid myself of the mess in my linen closet. Every time I do an organization project and see how easy it was, I am always shocked that it took me so long to cross it off my to-do list.
I hope these bathroom closet organization ideas and steps make it very easy for you to accomplish an organization project that has been on your to-do list! Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions!
